Carroll County is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia, on the North Carolina state line. Carroll County has a land area of 474 square miles (1,228 square kilometers). Interstate 77 runs through the center of Carroll County and intersects Interstate 81 just 10 miles north of the Carroll County line. With direct interstate access in all directions, Carroll County lies within a day’s drive of half the U.S. population.
